1. Our Service

We provide detailed vehicle checks using data collected from trusted third-party sources, including the DVLA, Police, MIAFTR, finance providers, local councils and other publicly available sources. Our goal is to give you the most accurate and up-to-date information available at the time of your check, helping you make a more informed buying decision.

Please note that our service depends on the data supplied by these external sources, and while we aim to deliver the most complete picture possible, we cannot guarantee the information is entirely comprehensive or error-free.

Please note that not all details are available for every vehicle check. Once your request is received, your report will be generated and instantly displayed.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the CarCheck website and services, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. In addition, when using these particular services, you shall be subject to any posted guidelines or rules applicable to such services. Any participation in this service will constitute acceptance of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.

3. User Responsibilities and Conduct

You agree to use CarCheck for your personal use or for internal business purposes only (e.g., a car dealership conducting due diligence on a vehicle for its inventory). You are responsible for providing accurate vehicle information (e.g., Vehicle Registration Mark) to generate a report. You agree not to:

• Use the service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
• Resell our service, reports, or the data contained within to third parties as a standalone offering.
• Use any automated system, including "robots," "spiders," or "offline readers," to access the service in a manner that sends more request messages to the CarCheck servers than a human can reasonably produce in the same period by using a conventional on-line web browser.
• Attempt to interfere with, compromise the system integrity or security, or decipher any transmissions to or from the servers running the service.

4. Data Sources and Limitations of Liability

The information provided in our vehicle check reports is compiled from various third-party sources. CarCheck does not create or own this data and, therefore, cannot and does not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the information. The data is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

You acknowledge and agree that:

• CarCheck is not liable for any inaccuracies, errors, or omissions in the data provided in the reports.
• The information provided should not be the sole basis for any purchasing decision. We strongly recommend you conduct a physical inspection of the vehicle and consult with a qualified mechanic.
• Our service does not include a physical inspection of the vehicle and cannot comment on the mechanical or physical condition, actual value based on condition or roadworthiness of any vehicle.
• CarCheck is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to, damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data, or other intangible losses, resulting from the use of or inability to use the service.

5. Payment, Refunds and Subscriptions

All fees for our services are set out on our website and are inclusive of any applicable taxes. Payment must be made in full previous to or at the time of your request.

Due to the digital nature of our service and the immediate delivery of the vehicle check report, we do not offer refunds once a report has been generated. If you experience a technical issue that prevents you from viewing your report, please contact our support team for assistance.

6. "Unlimited Lookups" Plan and Fair Use Policy

Our "Unlimited Lookups" plan is subject to a Fair Use Policy. This policy is designed to prevent fraud and abuse of our services and ensure system stability for all users.

• For Personal Use: Usage is expected to be consistent with that of a private individual researching vehicles for personal purchase.
• For Business/Commercial Use: Usage is permitted for legitimate internal business operations, such as a car dealership verifying stock. A high volume of searches is expected but is still subject to manual and automated reviews to prevent system abuse.
• Prohibited Uses for All Accounts: This Fair Use Policy strictly prohibits reselling our service or reports and the use of excessive or automated lookups (e.g., data scraping) that place an unreasonable burden on our systems.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate the service for any user who we, in our sole discretion, believe is violating this policy.

7. Intellectual Property

The CarCheck website and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of CarCheck and its licensors. The service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws of both the United Kingdom and foreign countries. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without the prior written consent of CarCheck.
